Още: British cuisine isn’t so much renowned as it is notorious. Overcooked, tasteless, bland – these are just a few of the adjectives our European neighbours might attribute to many a traditional British main. But if only they’d power through to pudding, they’d learn that we like to save the best till last. To spread the word, we’ve blended a beer with perhaps the most emblematic of our island’s after-dinner treats, the trifle – choosing an untraditional yet incomparable pairing of peach and pear, alternately layered with cake and vanilla custard, and topped off with rich whipped cream.
